An African safari is one of life’s greatest adventures and it’s no wonder it features on so many of our travel bucketlists. Whether you’re a seasoned traveller or inspired by wild Africa from watching David Attenborough’s documentaries, nothing quite prepares you for the magic of Kenya and coming face-to-face with the real thing.
Game viewing is the number one activity in the Kenyan bush and one of the best ways to get the most out of your wildlife-viewing experience is with a 7-night flying safari - combining two luxury tented camps in two of Kenya’s favourite game parks!
Day 1: Welcome to Kenya! Your adventure starts from the moment you take-off from Nairobi Wilson Airport with SafariLink and it’s just a 50-minute flight into Tsavo West National Park. Arrive at Finch Hattons luxury tented camp and witness unforgettable animal encounters, as well as stunning views of the Chyulu Hills and Mount Kilimanjaro. Enjoy your first sundowner (a daily staple), before driving back to the camp for dinner.
Day 2: Your first full day starts with an early morning game drive where you’ll likely see cape buffalo, impala, hyena, giraffe, zebra, gazelle and wildebeest with lion and cheetah among the big cats that roam the plains. Enjoy a bush breakfast before returning to camp for a relaxing afternoon by the pool.
Day 3: The safari magic continues as you venture into Tsavo National Park with morning and afternoon game drives. Make sure you capture that iconic photo of the sunset over Mount Kilimanjaro before heading back to camp.
Day 4: Rise and shine! Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before departing camp, ready to fly to the Maasai Mara. As you land at the Mara Olare Orok airstrip, you’ll be welcomed to Mahal Mzuri in style with a glass of bubbles! After lunch, enjoy a relaxing massage in the spa before more safari action when you head out on an evening game drive, followed by Bush sundowners.
Day 5: Enjoy breakfast in the bushfollowed by a full day of game viewing in the Olare Motorogi Conservancy. The wildlife is world-renowned with sightings of the ‘Big Five’- buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion and rhinoceros – throughout the year. Not forgetting cheetah, zebra, giraffe and hippos which only adds to the amazing experience.
Day 6: Visit a Maasai village to get a glimpse of daily life in the Mara and learn about the local Maasai Tribe. On your afternoon game drive, when the grassy plains have attracted enormous herds of grazing buffalos, our talented Field Guides can seek out the elusive cheetah and leopards hiding amidst acacia trees!
Day 7: On your final morning, make the most of your last game drive in the Maasai Mara Reserve before heading back to camp. After lunch on the deck, a transfer is ready to take you back to the airstrip for your return flight to Wilson Airport Nairobi. From Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you can board your flight home with memories of your Kenya Flying Safari to last a lifetime!
